How do I set up a webcam?
To use the TimeCam.TV time lapse service you need to
have a functioning webcam. There are typically two ways to setup a webcam:
- Use a "Network Camera". A Network Cameras is a camera that can send images
directly to the Internet. Network cameras are typically more expensive than
USB cameras, but they do not require a computer to upload an image and can
provide images as large as 5 megapixels.
- Use a USB webcam or a digital video camera that is connected to a computer
via FireWire or through a video capture card. USB cameras are typically much
cheaper than network cameras, but they have lower resolution and must be connected
to a computer that is on all the time. Many USB cameras ship with software
can automatically post a new image to your website. There are also many free and
low-cost web-cam software applications available online.
Back to questions

Refunds
Upon request TimeCam.TV will refund the full payment within 7 days of subscribing to the service.
For requests 7 days after subscription, we will refund payment for the unused days of the service based on the monthly subscription rates.
Two examples:
A. Customer Alice signed up for monthly billing. After 1 month and 12 days, she has been billed $19.95 twice.
She decides to cancel the service. From her second payment, she should only pay for the 12 days.
She should pay: $19.95 * 12/30 = $7.98.
So she will be refunded ($19.95 - $7.98) = $11.97.
B. Customer Bob signed up for 6 month billing. After 2 month and 18 days, he has been billed just once for the 6 month period ($14.95 * 6) for $89.70.
He decides to cancel his service, and should only pay for the 78 days he used it, but he should pay at the monthly rate, rather then the 6 month rate.
He should pay $19.95 * (2 + 18/30) = $51.87.
So he will be refunded ($89.70 - $51.87) = $37.83.
